Shesa DC Summer BBQ and Tennis Tournament. A Great Success!!!

SHESA
"SIMPLY THE BEST!". This sentiment of gratitude by a non-SHESA Family says it all.

With over 500 people in attendance, our Shesa DC Summer BBQ and Tennis Tournament turned out to be one of the greatest outdoor events of the DC Cameroonian Community. Considering the modest pre-publicity of the event among the entire Cameroonian community, the turnout by families was beyond our greatest expectations. It was simply amazing! It was indeed a great success!

Toilet Initiative - Update

SHESA Gentlemen,

We ended 2007 in grand style as you rallied in an unprecedent effort raising close to $45k to provide better toilet facilities for our alma mater. Thank you immensely for your display of unity and deep concern for the future.

Recognizing the need to take advantage of your tax deductable donation, we have mailed out acknowledgement letters and receipts to all donors to the TI project. You should have received your receipt by now-if you haven't please let us know and yours will be in the mail promptly. This was one of our commitments to you and we are making sure we deliver on it.

Better English:Mind Your P’s and Q’s

Business Are you constantly ill at ease with the manner in which you express yourself in English? Are you self-conscious about writing a good term paper, giving a convincing presentation, or drafting a captivating cover letter for a job? Far too many English second language speakers are crippled in their communication skills. Yet the truth is that good communication is an invaluable survival tool.

To all SHESANS from Dr Jem Spectar, President of the University of Pittsburgh

SHESA
Dear SHESANS:

I wish to express my heartfelt gratitude to you for your warm wishes, kind sentiments and gracious words, including congratulatory messages from SHESANS around the world and the SHESA America leadership. In fact, I must confess that I have also been a bit overwhelmed by the tremendous reservoir of affection, goodwill and camaraderie in the community of SHESANS, our dear alma mater.

THE COUNT DOWN FOR $25000.00 HAS BEGUN!

SHESA With the launch of the SHC toilet initiative the race is now effectively on to raise twenty-five thousand dollars ($25000.00) by November 12, 2007. As we take stock of contributions so far we are pleasantly surprised to find that shesans were already making some significant contributions even before the toilet initiative was launched.

SAHECO TOILET RENOVATION LAUNCH - Together we can!

SHESA Fellow Brothers,

We all must be proud of our collective efforts to support each other and Sacred Heart College.

- Our financial and moral support to Eddy Fosah's family was outstanding.
- Our website registration now at 225 registered members is well on track.
- Members volunteering to lead and participate in our forums is on the rise.

These are positive signs we are making good progress. I want to thank all members for the personal sacrifices they make each day to make Shesa America more responsive and relevant. Together, we shall accomplish even more.

Shesans Bid Farewell to Eddie Fosah

SHESA The first indication I had (on that fateful day) that something dreadful affecting Shesa Minnesota might have happened came when I received a phone call early on the morning of the 24th August from DC suggesting that a shesan in Minnesota had died. Because the information was very sketchy at the time and because the story was emanating from another state, I decided that it was all a mistake. Later as I continued on my commute to work I reflected on the event of a Shesan in MN passing away. It was a scary thought as we are a very close knit group in Minnesota and our contingency plans are hazy at best. I could only say a silent prayer that we will be spared such an eventuality until we are more prepared. It was not to be and we all had to hit the ground running.
